The next leg of our pilgimage included visit to Chandi Devi Temple located at the highest point atop the hill in the vicinity of Haridwar. To reach out to the temple, there are two ways to follow - stair case and trolley. It is once choice what channel to follow.
Reaching the Chandi Devi Temple one has to take the local transport till the foot hill. There are very nominal charges for the trolley hire and it is worth the month since one come across the scenic beauty of the surround hills, gorges and high towered power line - an engineering marvel even in this tough terrain. One can buy the Prasad either at the base or at the temple premises itself. There are good cafeteria to provide snacks and Tea/Coffee. Healthy eatables and service with a smile one feel absolutely at home. Charming beauty of the deity been housed in the temple gives a soulful experience to the otherwise tiring experience of travel in local transport. Local wares are available at the small shops in aplenty as sauvenirs to kept at the house as a memorable experience which would last for too long.
Local transport system is cheap and people are also very friendly. Though as a novice to such places of religious importance one must play safe of one's personal belonging. Mastering decency in our behaviour in any case has no substitute.

Chandi Devi Temple, Haridwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi in the holy city of Haridwar in the Uttarakhand state of India. The temple is situated atop the Neel Parvat on the Eastern summit of the Sivalik Hills, the southernmost mountain chain of the Himalayas. Chandi Devi Temple was built in 1929 by Suchat Singh in his reign as the King of Kashmir. However, the main murti of Chandi Devi at the temple is said to have been installed in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya, one of the greatest priests of Hindu religion.
